Just around 20 km from Frankfurt-Hahn Airport there is the town of Zell in the Moselle Valley.  Here you will find a lovely, small hotel, especially for all wine-lovers.

The town of Zell - surrounded by wineyards

A more idyllic stop is hard to imagine. Your are enchanted already on your way on the bending road to the Moselle. The climate is mostly mild, a necessity for the good Moselle wine.

 

The town Zell was granted its town charter in the year 1222 and the surrounded town walls was ready in 1229. From the five towers and three gates remains almost only the round tower, a distinctive feature of the town Zell.

 

The Moselle is winding through the valley and just around Zell-Barl the river almost come together again, so that you have Moselle on both sides of Marienburg, hold by the Swedish soldiers during the Thirty Years´ War.
