Göteborg City Airport flygplats

Swedish Coast Guard

We often see the Coast Guard’s planes at Göteborg City. It is one of many useful community activities based here.

In terms of organisation, Skavsta (Nyköping) is the home base of the Coast Guard Air Patrol. Göteborg City, however, is a natural place to start when carrying out work in the West Coast region. The Coast Guard Air Patrol’s many duties include:

  • Sea rescue
  •  Environmental surveillance (eg oil spills)
  •  Surveillance of fishing Border control

The Coast Guard Air Patrol currently operates CASA 212 aircraft and the brand new Dash 8Q-300 (picture to the right).
