Göteborg City Airport flygplats

Norrlandsflyg – ambulance helicopter

There is a civil ambulance helicopter stationed at the airport.

Norrlandsflyg operates from seven bases around Sweden. The main base is in Gällivare, which has the head office and a workshop. There is also an ambulance helicopter in Gothenburg, and several sea rescue helicopters – one is on the former military side of Göteborg City Airport.

The air ambulance operation with one twin-engined helicopter in Gothenburg started in January 2002. At the time, the region had been without an airborne ambulance service since the Police Air Support Unit’s exemption from ambulance transport ceased in December 1996.
